The two big topics I am talking about this month:
Are a difference of values the cause of friction in relationships?
Do we only show up and love people when its convenient for us?

Radical Honesty: Do you Secretly Enjoy the Pain in Your Life?
Wednesday Jul 19, 2023
Wednesday Jul 19, 2023
I was introduced to the concept of Existential Kink by Carolyn Elliott and it blew my mind. The truth is, most of us secretly benefit from the pain and suffering in our life, we're just not aware and not willing to be honesty about it. For example: if we are chronically sick, we are probably filling the emotional need of love, attention, and being cared for, so in all honesty, being sick, brings us many benefits. In this episode I discuss the shadow work I have been doing and sharing the insights, like... how could I be benefiting from "infertility?" I discovered that I actually do benefit! I also discuss how what we desire we also fear and that we all have thresholds, "ceilings" on how much money we think is appropriate to make.
Please email wisewomendiaries@gmail.com if you have a "kink story" you would love to share on this podcast!

The Realities of IVF No One Talks About | Andrea’s Story
Monday Jul 17, 2023
Monday Jul 17, 2023
The successes of IVF are common stories, but no one talks about the possibility of constant heartbreak in the journey of IVF, the consequences of the hormone drugs, and the dark side of the fertility business. Andrea shares with us her fertility journey- how she faced her victimhood and blossomed into a more trusting, heart-centered woman through it all.
She credits working with Patty Markham Peterson (my mom!) to shift out of victim mindset and into a grander, spiritual perspective that helped her anchor into Peace. (instagram @pattymarkhampeterson)
Please email wisewomendiaries@gmail.com if you want to share your own story of the dark realities of the medical fertility business or if you experienced fertility issues and were able to shed a victim mindset.

Holly is a pharmacist in the System but has so much awareness and wisdom. She shares her story of a repressed childhood memory of a doctor touching her without consent, her two unmedicated hospital birth stories and an unassisted birth at home. After her homebirth, she chose to bring her baby to the hospital because of a medical need and details the harrowing experience of fighting for the respect of her baby and navigating intuition in a place where everything is fear mongered. Postpartum Awakening into Motherhood | Cynthia’s Story
Thursday Jul 13, 2023
Thursday Jul 13, 2023
Cynthia shares her story of the postpartum underworld after the birth of her first child, which includes a unique experience with postpartum psychosis... her spiritual awakening. A "bipolar diagnosis" in her 20's set her on a quest of becoming a student to health and fitness with the goal of not taking medication, but then the surprise pregnancy with her daughter was the catalyst for her accelerated spiritual growth. Cynthia could have become a victim to a "diagnosis" and could have stayed on meds for her entire life..... but she didn't. Instead she took responsibility for her health, her life, and motherhood, and now she thrives as a wise, mature mother... and I am lucky enough to have her in my life.
Cynthia has offerings for women (especially mother's), in person, or online. Her instagram is @cynthiaspenla, her website is www.cynthiaspenla.com
Note: We mention Dr Kelly Brogan a few times in this podcast. Cynthia and I both love to learn from Kelly (her podcast is Reclamation Radio). Dr Kelly Brogan was a normal psychiatrist that prescribed anti-depressants to pregnant women until she learned the truth of science literature. She wrote a few books about the myths of big pharma meds and now dedicates her life to helping people NOT take these meds and take responsibility for their lives through a holistic lens of health.

Children are our Teachers | A Conversation about Parenting with Natasha
Tuesday Jun 13, 2023
Tuesday Jun 13, 2023
Natasha (@empoweredmamamovement on instagram) and I discuss many topics surrounding parenting: respectful parenting is not about compliance, feeling guilt as a parent serves a very important purpose for growth, chemicals in food and technology can hijack children (and adults) brains inhibiting natural instincts and intuition, how to talk to children about nutrition, and asking yourself the very important question of, "Am I being the adult I want my child to grow up to become?" because children model behavior they are shown.

Fertility Issues, a Drug-Free Hospital Birth, then a Homebirth | Natasha’s Story
Tuesday Jun 13, 2023
Tuesday Jun 13, 2023
Natasha (@empoweredmamamovement on instagram) shares her personal journey through fertility issues, multiple miscarriages, a straight-forward, drug-free hospital birth, then most recently, a homebirth with her second son that rocked her and created a lot of emotional turmoil from mind expectations. We discuss how an important aspect to hospital birth outcomes (good and bad) is the hospital staff working that day. Natasha also shares that one of the most unexpected mind issues with her homebirth was her desire to host and take care of her midwives while she was in labor (now she realizes that this is a common theme among women who homebirth). Part 2 of this conversation is a discussion with Natasha about conscious/respectful parenting.
